A Virtual Interview with Dr Roy Martina

Today I have the great pleasure of being the host on 15th day of the Virtual Blog Tour of Hay House author Dr Roy Martina, whose book Emotional Balance: the path to inner peace and harmony comes to Amazon on Tuesday March 15, 2011.

He is the author of over 40 books in Dutch and other languages. He has spent the last 25 years studying acupuncture and numerous holistic techniques in order to offer people a profound level of healing, and he has been tireless in his pursuit of methods that work swiftly and effectively to aid the healing process. This work has put him at the leading edge of the holistic and self-help world.

Yesterday, Roy visited Glenn M Smith at http://sensitiveselfhelp.com/an-interview-with-roy-martina-author-of-emotional-balance where he talked about Stillpoint, three levels of consciousness and path to mastery.

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Roy when I got to ask him some questions on physical health, yin/yang philosophy and connecting to energy. I hope you enjoy it.

Jenny Mannion: Roy firstly, I find your book fascinating, illuminating and essential in these changing times. I know first-hand the importance of emotional balance for health and your book puts it in simple, assessable morsels for people. Can you explain to my readers what emotional balance has to do with physical health?

Roy Martina: The body is born with an innate intelligence to balance itself; it is the most sophisticated bio-regulation machine you can imagine. This process results in the natural ability to heal itself. There are 5 key regulatory systems that take care of this: energy-regulation (meridians), neurological (nervous system and brains), endocrinal (hormone glands), biochemical and cellular. The most sensitive system is the Energetic system that influences the neurological system and the way we feel (up or down). Next to energy quantity there is quality (moods, emotions, temperament). The biggest impact on the Energetic system has to do how we react to external and internal stimuli. How we deal with pressure, challenges, conflicts and the meaning we give to what occurs in our lives. When we do not have a high level of Emotional Intelligence we believe to be victims, hopeless, we are stressed, angry, insecure and feel unsafe in our lives. Sometimes we recycle incidents and traumas of our past and influences this way to our current emotional state. When we do not manage our emotional state very well; we become chronically stressed and this starts influencing the functions of the organs. It is like having electricity problems in your house. The stove may not get enough current or the dishwasher does not function properly etc. This can lead to biochemical changes and in the long run to cellular changes (wear and tear, degeneration, plaques, etc.). All diseases begin in principle on energetic level and over 80% of the cases this is caused by an imbalanced emotional reaction pattern to the events in our lives present, past or future.

Jenny Mannion: You talk about yin/yang philosophy which is dear to my heart. What do you feel would be the FIRST step for people to understand where they are in this and how to move toward a more balanced state?

Roy Martina: The Yin Yang concept means we live in a dualistic world, pain and pleasure, joy vs. depression, masculine (outward energy) feminine (inward energy) etc. This means we can live our lives based on two principles 1. Learn to have fun while we learn to cope with the challenges of daily lives or 2. Get stuck in primitive childlike emotional states: holding grudges, not forgiving, not loving, angry, fearful, intimidated, indecisive, etc. We get stuck and become sour, bitter, acid and frustrated. It is not the circumstances that determine our quality of life but how we deal with them and what meaning we give to them. Our beliefs can be health promoting or disease forming. We have a choice and we can train ourselves to become more loving, optimistic and achieve inner peace and harmony, which is the purpose of my book.

Jenny Mannion: You also talk about energy, chakras, and meridians – also a favorite topic of mine and essential for my daily work. Can you give people some quick tips for understanding and connecting to their energy body and tell them what that has to do with physical well-being?

Roy Martina: The 1st question already covers some parts of this; the 2nd question opens the possibility of choice. The energy system consists of different levels: the basic level is the electrical body; this is the energy that runs through the so called meridians. (This is a predominantly electrical system with different qualities of electricity). Then this electrical system creates a force field that is a matrix for a higher energy form that works with vibrations. These vibrations are linked to our biography. Depending on what kind of emotions is unresolved the energy vibrates differently. There are 7 centers that interact with our past. Each centre connects with different issues. Safety–issues are in the lowest centre (near our coccyx) and the heaviest energy. This is linked to fear. Once we are safe we need to relax and enjoy life: playfulness, flirting, sexual energy is linked to the 2nd centre. Once we are playful we want to win the game and control the circumstances to maintain that. Control issues are in centre 3. If we overcome our control issue and accept it is a game where everyone can win we move on to intimacy and commitment in our relationships. We can open our hearts and love without fear of rejection that is level 4. When we feel safe in relationships; we can truly be ourselves and express our deepest thoughts, talents and creativity. We move to centre 5. We take our place in a larger community by our uniqueness. When we come into the bigger picture the question becomes more important who we can trust and how to move with grace, ease and joy towards fulfilment of our life’s mission. Last but not least in this game called life, we discover that all was an illusion and just a game of immortals. We return to our full power capacity and start mastering universal love. We start unveiling the mystery and discover we are all Divine beings co-creating this dualistic dimension to play and learn in a different way than we do at home. And we discover the game was set up according to certain universal laws of karma and that our growth is linked to our capacity to see through the pain-pleasure, good-wrong illusion that all is based on unconditional love by supporting each of us to get out of the game what we need for our growth. Game over.
